Thank you for allowing the youth poets an opportunity to have their voices heard, to be vulnerable, to be brave, and to share themselves with others. Thank you for extending this opportunity to Hajar, as well. She is starting to come into her own self, and I think this allowed her a small opportunity to realize she has a voice, she has depth, passion, and courage. It gave her an opportunity to walk a little taller, to be proud of stepping out of her comfort zone! I truly hope this event is something that will continue as it really is wonderful to experience, especially from our youth, who don't always have a way or idea of how to have their voices heard.
